New Managing Editor Leads HealthcareInfoSecurity

Information Security Media Group (ISMG) is pleased to announce that Marianne Kolbasuk McGee has joined its editorial team as managing editor of HealthcareInfoSecurity.

McGee is tasked with leading the content development of this growing media site, overseeing its continued growth in coverage of such areas as breach response, regulatory compliance, information security and risk management.

A veteran journalist with more than 20 years of experience covering information technology - including more than a decade covering healthcare IT - McGee most recently worked for InformationWeek. During her tenure, she reported extensively on health IT business and regulatory challenges. She also played an instrumental role in facilitating the 2009 launch of the InformationWeek Healthcare website and digital magazine.

McGee produced news, features, analytics reports, columns and slideshows for online and print, and has spoken with top U.S. health IT leaders, including four national coordinators for health IT and many of the country's most influential and innovative CIOs.

"We're pleased to add such an established journalist to our team and put her at the helm of our established HealthcareInfoSecurity site," says Tom Field, ISMG's VP, Editorial. "Marianne adds even greater depth to our team, and I look forward to seeing how she builds upon what we've started."

McGee started her career as an associate editor at Computer Systems News. She is a graduate of Long Island University/C.W. Post Campus, Greenvale, N.Y.

Howard Anderson, HealthcareInfoSecurity's founding editor, remains with ISMG in the new role of News Editor, contributing to each of ISMG's media properties.
