Kurt Stammberger of Mocana Corp.
Companies developing their own mobile applications must take steps to ensure their security policies are followed no matter where or how the apps are used, says Kurt Stammberger of Mocana Corp.

But many organizations have a backlog of apps that are awaiting the necessary security components, Stammberger says.

In an interview, Stammberger:

  • Addresses how to efficiently roll out secure apps;
  • Discusses the security implications of the BYOD trend;
  • Outlines issues involved in building corporate app stores.

Stammberger, CISSP, is Mocana's vice president of market development. He has more than 20 years of experience in the security industry. He joined cryptography startup RSA Security as its seventh employee in 1990, where he led the marketing organization for eight years and helped launch spin-off company VeriSign. Stammberger founded the annual RSA Conference. He also founded Coda Creative, a San Francisco-based technology marketing firm, and served as vice president of content and services for healthcare comparison-shopping site Vimo.com.
