How Telework Is Changing Cloud SecurityJim Reavis of the Cloud Security Alliance on Adjusting CISOs' Priorities
Because the COVID-19 pandemic has led to more employees working from home, cloud services have become indispensable, but the pressure is on organizations to ensure security, says Jim Reavis, CEO of the Cloud Security Alliance.
Many organizations have adjusted most of their cloud services to meet the needs of teleworkers, but now CISOs need to create new policies and structures to ensure these services stay secure, he says.
In a video interview with Information Security Media Group, Reavis discusses:
- How cloud security policies have changed in the work-from-home era;
- Whether VPNs can keep up with new demands;
- Why shadow IT has become another critical issue.
Reavis is the CEO and co-founder of the Cloud Security Alliance, a nonprofit organization that develops best practices for cloud security. He is also the president of Reavis Consulting Group, where he advises organizations on the implications of emerging trends, such as growing use of the cloud as well as mobile devices and the internet of things.
