The latest version of the NIST Cybersecurity Framework - Version 1.1 - includes more information on supply chain risk management, authentication, authorization, identity proofing and self-assessing cybersecurity risk management, says Matthew Barrett of the National Institute of Standards and Technology.

In a video interview at Information Security Media Group's recent Legal & Compliance Summit in New York, Barrett discusses:

  • The new Spanish language version of the NIST Cybersecurity Framework 1.1.;
  • International adoption of the framework;
  • How the framework offers a plan for cybersecurity action.

Barrett is program manager for the NIST Cybersecurity Framework. He leads this program through planning, team oversight and coordination, and outreach to industry and federal organizations.
