In the era of digital transformation, governance, risk and compliance, GRC, is becoming a "product for the entire business, not just siloed off to compliance and security," said Stas Bojoukha, founder and CEO of Compyl. This shift is primarily driven by the pressing need for broader regulatory compliance and efficient process automation within businesses.

But despite the crowded market, the fundamental challenges of usability and complexity in GRC systems persist. "Problems are still the same that they were even five years ago," Bojoukha said. It continues to be challenging for end users to navigate, often necessitating detailed explanations and guided assistance.

"The need for GRC is very apparent, with businesses trying to expand to different regions and territories," he said. "And with new regulations and frameworks coming out all the time, security and compliance people are hard to find. And businesses are looking for ways to automate a lot of their processes … But it's still a very complex piece of software to run."

In this video interview with Information Security Media Group at RSA Conference 2024, Bojoukha also discussed:

  • The origin and mission of Compyl;
  • How Compyl is helping customers solve their GRC challenges;
  • What has led to a crowded GRC marketspace.

Bojoukha has over 20 years of experience in leading high-performing technical and nontechnical teams. He has previously held roles including CISO and head of information security.
