More organizations are taking a "privacy by design" approach to their applications, says Barry Cook, group data protection and privacy officer at VFS Global, a Dubai-based visa outsourcing and technology services company.

“As a privacy officer, my concern is to understand the scope of what happens to the data and how much is it traded with third parties and ensure balancing risks to privacy versus benefits of convenience,” he says.
